Energy is no longer just a purchaseIt’s a position.

Independent. Active
Market-facing.

Pep Energy is an independent energy advisory specialising in Australian gas and energy markets. We advise on procurement, portfolio structuring, contract negotiation, market strategy and optimisation.

Our approach is active, practical and market-facing. We identify value across contract flexibility, storage, transport, spot markets and counterparty arrangements, helping clients convert that insight into action.

Between the Directors, we have originated and sold WA domestic gas as producers, procured it for the state’s largest industrial users, and built and grown WA’s largest wholesale gas trading book.

Pep is small by design. You deal directly with the Directors, so the people forming the view are the people making the call, and we move at the pace a live negotiation demands.

Clarity in an opaque market.

See the market for what it is.

WA energy is shaped by a small number of producers, pipelines, contracts and buyers. Price is only one signal. We bring the market, the contracts and the physical constraints together to show what is moving, what matters and what it means commercially.

Your position stays yours.

Our interests do not compete with yours. We disclose any interest that could affect our advice, and we will not act for the counterparty on your transaction.

Independent
Built for WA.

For anyone who buys, sells, moves or stores energy: four ways we work, and the fuels and markets we work across.

  1. Buy better.

    For buyers and sellers

Gas and electricity sales and purchases, from strategy and market testing through to negotiation and contracting. When you are the seller, we run the sales process.

    Strategy · Tendering · Negotiation · Contracting

  2. Make the portfolio work.

    For portfolio holders

Portfolio review and optimisation across flexibility, storage and transport, managed as one whole rather than a pile of separate contracts.

    Optimisation · Flexibility · Storage · Transport

  3. Build and run.

    For developers and new entrants

Commercial structure for new supply and new molecules: pipelines, hydrogen, ammonia, CCUS and low-carbon liquid fuels, from first concept through offtake and into operation.

    Concept · Structure · Offtake · Operation

  4. See it coming.

    For every team

Supply, price and regulation across WA and the east coast, with the carbon layer landing alongside: Safeguard exposure, ACCUs and Safeguard Mechanism Credits, CCUS and low-carbon offtake.

This market is
our home ground.

We have worked this market from both sides of the table: buying, selling, contracting and managing energy positions. Pep was built from that experience.

  • Oliver Wasse, Director of Pep Energy

    Oliver Wasse

    Director

Oliver ran and grew a wholesale gas trading business, after marketing ExxonMobil’s domestic gas across Victoria and Western Australia.

  • Jai Coppen, Director of Pep Energy

    Jai Coppen

    Director

Jai directed the energy portfolio for one of the state’s largest industrial gas users at Yara Pilbara Fertilisers, after eight years at Shell across LNG trading and WA domestic gas origination.

Your position gets argued from the other side before it goes anywhere near a counterparty.

And we are not learning how WA works on your time.
